The Seattle Kraken and the City of Kirkland have partnered to unveil the Kraken Iceplex and Community Center, designed by Generator Studio. The new building brings together two sheets of ice, a city-operated community center, and a neighborhood restaurant under one roof.
The Kraken and Kirkland hope the new neighborhood rinks will help grow participation, develop young athletes, and give every skill level a place to be on the ice. Additionally, the community center, with a fitness center and multi-purpose rooms, will provide Kirkland residents with a genuine third place. The final piece, a local restaurant, invites everyone in for a meal after practice, a family dinner, or a quick bite for a neighborhood visitor.
