Generator Studio was hired to design a welcoming and comfortable family home located in the coveted Town & Country neighborhood of Prairie Village. The underutilized site features a gentle slope and beautiful mature trees. The family desired a classic Cape Cod-style home with all the modern amenities to free them up to raise their family and to entertain.
The 2-story home is configured with a walk-out basement and covered outdoor entertaining areas.
As is the case here, families are moving away from dedicated, under-used living and dining rooms and committing to a centralized kitchen with combined dining.
Flex space is built into the plan to allow the family to adjust the use of the rooms as their children grow.
