350,000 SF New Construction
Coca-Cola Amphitheater

Coca-Cola Amphitheater marks a bold new chapter for Birmingham’s live music scene as the city’s largest open-air music destination, bringing an exciting, premium-layered environment to a rapidly redeveloping district. In collaboration with the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) and Live Nation, Generator Studio designed the 9,300-max capacity venue to deliver an immersive fan and artist experience unique to Birmingham.

Carved into the terrain, the amphitheater’s design draws inspiration from the Earth’s natural layers. Different overlays of rich, copper-toned metal panels, reflecting the region’s red clay and geological textures, cover a majority of the venue’s and adjoining building’s exterior.

Using strategic site programming, support spaces like restrooms, concessions, and storage are tucked beneath the seating bowl to maintain an open, clean flow for fans. Most structures are single-story buildings, preserving views and neighborhood scale, except for the 4,500 SF, 70-foot-high stage house.

Coca-Cola Amphitheater offers a wide range of seating and viewing options, from backed seating throughout the upper-level seating to premium “Rock Box” group-viewing experiences flanking each side of the stage. The pit area features 1,800 seats that can be removed to accommodate over 2,100 standing-room-only guests.

The Vinyl Room inside the amphitheater offers an exclusive venue-within-a-venue, designed with a recording studio feel—black acoustic ceiling, clean lines, and wood accents set a refined yet comfortable tone. Featuring a dedicated kitchen, 4,000 SF of indoor space, and a 4,500 SF outdoor patio, the Vinyl Room delivers a premium offering for those looking to elevate their amphitheater experience.

The Coca-Cola Amphitheater welcomed its first act in June 2025.
