Generator Studio was selected to assist the club establish a new vision for an existing ballroom and kitchen that were no longer competitive against the newer country clubs and event spaces in the Kansas City area. The collective renovation established a complete re-branding and reorganization of the historic club’s food and beverage service, and consolidated five formerly separate spaces into one grand ballroom.
The new architecture of the ballroom centers around the opulence of the 9′-0″ diameter chandelier, giving the space the formality befitting a true ballroom. A balance was established with the interior finishes between modernizing the space to be enticing for brides, yet remain complementary to the traditional finishes in the rest of the club. The updates successfully established the renovated ballroom as an elegant venue for brides that has greatly increased bookings for a previously outdated event space.
The project also provided a total commercial kitchen upgrade with new finishes, a new layout, and new equipment. We worked with the Chef to create a new room directly off the kitchen called the Chef’s Table. The room has direct views to the updated kitchen, as well as a new exterior door to allow for an al fresco dining experience overlooking the pool. The Chef’s Table has proven to be a club gem that members proudly use to host a variety of personal + small corporate events.
By providing a state of the art kitchen and a freshly re-styled ballroom, the club is able to retain membership and is empowered to reach out to an entirely new demographic of members.
