Sounders Facility Named Belgian World Cup Home Base

The Belgian men’s national soccer team will use the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse as its home base during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

The Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse, housing the business and soccer operations for Seattle Sounders FC, will open its doors to host the Belgium National Team for the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

With all three group stage matches on the West Coast and a 50,000 SF facility with four full-sized training pitches to use as their own, the Renton, Washington, location offers Belgium proximity to their competitions and an expansive base camp training site.

Opened in February 2024, the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse is a former Boeing corporate headquarters converted into a unified home for the Sounders’ business and soccer operations. With First Team, Tacoma Defiance, and Academy locker rooms, an elite fitness center, staff offices, a film room, and treatment and recovery spaces, the Sounders facility will provide Belgium with the high-quality amenities needed to prepare for soccer’s biggest competition.

In the Sounders’ official press release, Royal Belgian Football Association Sports Director Vincent Mannaert said:

“We are very pleased to establish our base camp at the world-class facilities of Seattle Sounders FC. The Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse offers everything our team needs to prepare at the highest level for a major tournament like the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
