Generator Studio Named to Sports Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in Sports

Generator takes top honor as the only architecture & interior design firm to be named to the list.

Kansas City, MO (March 11, 2024) – The Sports Business Journal (SBJ) announced its inaugural “Best Places to Work in Sports” awards to recognize the best companies across many categories for their leadership and unwavering commitment to employees. The survey measured key areas that make up an organization’s culture, such as compensation, benefits, confidence in co-workers, and trust in senior leadership. Generator was the only architecture and interior design firm to make the list.

The Best Places to Work in Sports is an editorial initiative developed by SBJ, an industry-leading news source at the epicenter of the sports industry. More than 200 companies vied for the honor. Employees at nominated companies engaged in a thorough surveying process managed by Quantum Workplace, a trusted SBJ partner. Organizations having the highest levels of employee engagement as analyzed by survey results were named honorees of this inaugural award

Nearly 100% of Generator’s employees surveyed were considered highly engaged. Overwhelmingly Generator’s employees said they know they would be recognized for contributing to the organization’s successes; and that senior leaders at Generator value people as their most important resource. The top word employees used to describe the work environment at Generator was “collaborative.”

“My partner Tom Proebstle and I set out to create a highly collaborative studio where listening and curiosity flourish, pushing each other to design excellence,” said Mike Kress, Generator Studio Co-founder. “In turn, our team handles clients the same way, and we attribute this as key to our success. Our growth stems from repeat business & referrals, and to that we owe our team for taking extraordinary care and collaborating with clients.”

Generator was also honored as a “Best Employer in Sports” by Front Office Sports in 2023, 2022, and 2020.
