Architectural Associate II Sam Dykes

While in France, Sam stayed the night at Le Corbusier's La Tourette Monastery!

Sam graduated from the University of Kansas earning a Master’s in Architecture. During his time at KU, he had multiple internships at firms gaining experience in residential, higher education, and commercial building types. In his final year at KU, he was an independent contractor designing retail stores and custom display cases. During his study abroad program, Sam documented urban spaces, historic buildings, and modern buildings in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Italy, France, and Spain. London and Siena were highlight cities for Sam where he enjoyed being immersed in the different cultures and lifestyles.

Before studying architecture he had a passion for film and digital photography. His experience with photography and 2D design impacts the way he sees architecture and the creative process. Sam gravitates toward creative problem-solving and how it has the power to impact everyday life. In his free time, Sam enjoys running, golfing, and taking his pup to the dog park.
