Senior Project Designer
The award-winning team at Generator Studio, a multidisciplinary design firm, seeks a Senior Project Designer.
The Role:
The Senior Project Designer is a client-facing design lead with both creative vision and the ability to develop design concepts into constructable details. Includes solving complex problems, working with the project team to prepare presentations and design drawings through all phases, mentoring junior team members, and fostering design excellence in a deeply collaborative environment.

As Our Senior Project Designer, You:
- Lead the design process. You’ll be leading design for multiple project types of varying scale and complexity, working closely with the project team to initiate and develop designs from concept through construction.
- Lead design reviews. Ensure that internal and client-facing design reviews occur at the designated stages of your projects.
- Solve problems. Anticipate and identify problems and resolve issues that arise throughout the process.
- Make site visits. Periodically visit construction sites to ensure quality and project deliverables are being met.
- Champion good design. Advocate for maintaining a healthy design culture where all are engaged, collaborating and advancing design. Make us better.
- Produce presentations and documentation. Produce design documentation that aligns with Generator’s design philosophy. Create materials for new business opportunities you will participate in.
- Work well with others. Work closely with Project Managers, Principals, Technical Director; and outside contractors, consultants and subcontractors.
- Be client-facing. Meet with owners / clients / potential clients to understand their needs and opportunities with a listen-first approach. Communicate clearly and confidently with a flexible and professional nature.
- Delegate and mentor. Act as a resource to less experienced team members and provide mentorship, constructive feedback and development opportunities.
This Role is For You if You:
- Eat, sleep and drink design. You love design, the iterative design process and have the ability to conceive and develop multiple design concepts.
- Have 10+ years of experience in a range of architectural design roles.
- Are licensed, ideally (but not required). We pay for initial testing for licensure.
- Develop relationships. You are confident, have effective interpersonal skills and resolve conflict with tact.
- Revit and Adobe well. Demonstrated skills in Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily Photoshop and InDesign). Must have at least working knowledge of Enscape and Lumion.
- Multitask and make magic. You work on multiple projects and effectively balance your workload with a high degree of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Have a flexible working style, at times working independently and at other times in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Are a great communicator. You have excellent verbal and written communication and strong presentation skills.
