Generator Studio is currently designing a new 24 unit multi-family apartment building near the Kansas University hospital complex in eastern Kansas City, Kansas. Surrounded mostly by single family residences, the project will be located on a small suburban site.
The exterior massing for the project utilizes a combination of traditional gabled and flat roofs to divide the exterior into three distinct “houses,” tied together with neutral materials. The contemporary approach helps break up the massing, and better integrate the project into the scale and historic nature of the surrounding neighborhood.
The project will have three stories above grade, with a combination of standing seam siding with stucco accents atop a locally-sourced stone base. The building will have two secure walk-up entries off of Rainbow Boulevard, secured onsite parking, and dedicated outdoor space for each unit.
