Sports, Seattle, and Generator Studio

Connecting the dots on Generator Studio and the Seattle sports scene.

Seattle deserves the sports spotlight. Just ask Sports Business Journal’s Abraham Madkour, who highlights the city’s growing presence on the national stage in a recent column on the connection between Seattle and its sports teams.

The piece shows us just how much the Seattle sports infrastructure has grown significantly over the past two decades, and Generator Studio has had a front-row seat.

Co-founders Tom Proebstle and Mike Kress have been closely involved in Seattle’s sports venue evolution since 1998, working on the design teams behind two foundational projects: Lumen Field and the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.

That same energy continues at Generator today. The studio is proud to be the design team behind several of Seattle’s most important recent and upcoming sports projects, including the Kraken Community Iceplex, the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse, the redevelopment of Memorial Stadium, and the planned multi-sheet iceplex in Kirkland.

From professional training centers to public ice rinks, Generator’s work continues to support the momentum behind Seattle’s rise as a national sports destination.
