Renovation of the historic Kansas City Star building into a new development at Grand Place further expands the greater downtown renaissance; creating a mixed use destination encompassing an entire city block. The original structure is listed on the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places. Generator Studio is working with 3D Development to create a best-in-class destination.
This historic renovation strives to create a healthy workplace and be environmentally responsible and will be working to meet both LEED Core + Shell requirements plus WELL Building Standards. Abundant natural daylight and ventilation will be available via 3 central skylights and historically accurate new operable windows. Additionally, the development plans to include health and wellness amenities: a healthy food market, an in-building spa, and generous outdoor common spaces. Generator Studio is excited to be a part of the team working to restore this beautiful, historically significant building.
